Don’t be so stingy with the air conditioning! The nickels you saved in cooling cost you big time. We asked the front desk staff about unlocking the thermostat to make it cooler and they said that it was all controlled off site and they could do nothing for us. Plus, we were on the 5th floor, so all the heat below us made it intolerable. On a day when it’s 90 degrees and 80% humidity, you will not rest well. The minimum cooling setting on the thermostat in the room is 68 degrees. The hotel is new and modern, but do not stay here if you’re a hot sleeper or have chronic asthma. The casino was nice and we had fun playing there. Many glowing comments about the Hotel were made by Classmates and wives/friends who attended.… Our final event was our closing banquet on Friday and we had the carved Roast Beef and Fried Catfish which were absolutely delicious. The Front Desk staff led by Theresa and Patricia are courteous and very helpful. We worked with Lyndsi Warner to plan and implement our event and she was simply wonderful. The layout of the hotel is conducive to meeting and gathering because of the way the Lobby is laid out with the Lobby Bar and Coffee Shop. The rooms are spacious with designer quality bathrooms that are very nice. The Hotel is relatively new and just beautiful with a very easy parking situation. Counting other Groups/West Point Companies from our Class who held mini reunions in conjunction with the Golf Tour We had about 60 rooms. We played the beautiful Cole Park Golf Course at nearby Fort Campbell and the outstanding Clarksville Country Club Course for 2 days each (both are open to the public). My wife and I hosted the the Annual USMA/West Point Class of 1970 Golf Tour at the Oak Grove Hotel and Casino from September 17th to September 23rd.
